The Rebelling Slave (Original Work/Master, Prisoner)
Title: The Rebelling Slave
Prompt: enchanted
Fandom: Original Work/Master, Prisoner
Characters: Leonard, Marcellus
Summary: Marcellus wonders about the spell on Desroches.
Notes: Mentions of slavery and noncon
It was a spell, but it was as if it had effected nothing. Whenever Marcellus saw Desroches, he saw loathing, fury, and rebellion in his eyes. Marcellus had been sincere when he asked Leonard if Leonard would like him better if he acted the same way to him. If Leonard wanted rebellion, after all, then look no further than the king who had taken the throne by force.
'I always thought that the spell that makes one a slave-pet would make them placid towards you,' Marcellus said to Leonard.
'I think the magic is only in the enchanted being unable to disobey direct commands. Their feelings are unchanged,' Leonard replied.
'Then what about Charron's slave pet? She was a feisty thing, I hear, but now she is like a kitten.'
'I believe that is because she has given up.'
'I see. Desroches refuses to give up.'
'I wouldn't want him to. I want him to live.'
Marcellus said nothing more. He didn't want to hear anymore, regretted bringing up the subject, in truth. He almost wished that he had refused when Leonard had made this request of him, to magically enslave his former master, seeing the pain that Desroches inflicted on him every day with his taunts and his insults. But he could never refuse Leonard anything. How was it that Desroches could reject Leonard over and over again? There was no such spell over Marcellus, yet he was completely underneath Leonard's enchantment.
